At Legacy Futures we would like to wish all of our valued clients, partners and friends a very peaceful and merry Christmas. We believe legacy giving is the future, we want to play our part in supporting charities to realise this potential and see our community flourish.
Carrying on a tradition, founded by Legacy Foresight, we mark this time of year by asking our newest team members to nominate a charity for our Christmas donation. This year we’ve been delighted to welcome 14 new team members across our group of companies, Legacy Link, Legacy Voice and Legacy Foresight. We have asked four of them to each nominate a charity for our Christmas giving.
They each selected a cause or charity which was close to their heart. Their reasons are all different and all personal to them. They’ve kindly agreed to share their stories as their causes might resonate with you – or simply remind you that there is an organisation that you wish to make a seasonal donation to.
Stephen’s family have a tradition of doing a food shop before Christmas which they donate to a local food bank. Here he explains why The Bedford Foodbank, supporting families in his community, is his chosen cause.
Lyn Hall, Legacy Administrator, Legacy Link
“When I was asked to nominate a charity it was an easy decision for me, I requested Hearing Dogs for the Deaf. I am currently sponsoring my 4th hearing dog. Lots of my family have had hearing problems and I myself have very poor hearing in one ear so I know the challenges it brings. I think Rose on Strictly Come Dancing has been an inspiration to the deaf community and I will continue to sponsor a dog to support and help those that are deaf so that they can feel safe in the knowledge that their dog becomes their ears.
When we asked Lucy to nominate a charity she knew straight away which cause to select. Here she explains why Breast Cancer Now has such personal importance for her family.
Sharon Wheeler, Client Relationship Manager, Legacy Link.
Sharon requested that her donation goes towards a funds being raised by her family for a vital cause. She explains; “My donation is going towards fundraising appeal. My little nephew Danny is 6 years old. He is battling Stage 4 High Risk Neuroblastoma and the family is raising vital funds for a treatment only available in the United States.”
You can read more about little Danny’s story here.
Christmas is a time for giving and reflection. On behalf of the whole Legacy Futures team, we wish you and the charities that are close to your heart, a very happy Christmas.
